The Almanac falls open at December where we recall some of the events in and around the club over the years that might otherwise slip past us. This month we start with the national team coming to White Hart Lane. There are first, fast and record goals, new managers and players and more than our share of trouble.

Left - Ledley King who turns up a couple of times.

1st - 1937 - White Hart Lane hosts England V Czechoslovakia and England win 5-4 with our own Willie Hall in the side (link - http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/hotspur-towers-willie-hall1)

1st - 2012 - Jermain Defoe nets at Fulham as we win 3-0 and its also our 100th goal on that ground.

3rd - 1880 - Percy Humphries is born in Cambridge. He moves from Chelsea to Spurs. On the last day of the 1910 season he scores the goal that saves Spurs from relegation and sends Chelsea down.

3rd - 1994 - Teddy Sheringham scores a hat trick in a win up at Newcastle. (Link - http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/edward-teddy-sheringham )

4th - 2013 - A first Spurs goal for Vlad Chiriches in another win at Fulham.

4th - 1948 - Another goal and its Bill Nicholson’s first for the first team, we draw 1-1 also at Craven Cottage.

8th - 1954 - Danny Blanchflower signs for Spurs as we beat Arsenal for his signature. His debut comes two days later. (link -http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/ht-27-danny-blanchflower-part-1  )
