Each of his hat tricks came in different competitions. The others were in Division One and the League Cup. Top pic - Crooks on debut. 5th October 1925 The Charity Shield is played at White Hart Lane on a Monday afternoon with The Amateurs beating The Professionals 6-1. The Professionals were drawn from the FA XI touring side that had just returned from Australia. Tottenham’s Cyril Poynton and Jack Elkes (who hit the post) were included in the side. One newspaper report claimed the Amateurs won because of their use of the changes in the off-side law that had been introduced at the start of that season. 6th October 2007 (and the next day) There is a ‘zip wire challenge’ which enabled you to fly over the WHL pitch in aid of a children’s charity. 7th October 1899 – Jack Kirwan scores a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Brighton United.
