By the time you read this it will be more than two years since I wondered how we should celebrate White Hart Lane. By collecting together various milestones 'along the Lane' the series first ran daily on social media and was so well received it quickly became clear it should be compiled into a followup series to entertain as well as be a reference. If I have envisaged what a Herculean undertaking it would grow to become, well. Maybe its fitting that as the series ends our new home dominates the North London skyline much I hope like the team will for the next hundred or so years.

7th May 1946 – Tottenham play their first benefit match for Willie Hall against an FA XI
7th May 1949  - Les Bennett scores a hat trick as we win over Plymouth
7th May 1950 - We play FC Austria as part of the Festival of Britain celebrations.
12th May 1950 – We host Borussia Dortmund for the same reason.

12th May 2014 – The Ledley King testimonial  game.

14th May 2017 -  The last game at WHL before the rebuild.
Kane gets our last goal as we beat Manchester United.

14th May 1983 - Steve Archibald scores the 150th competitive hat trick (and his only one) for the club as we beat Stoke 4-1 at home in Division One.

15th May  1920 –  The second time the Charity Shield is played at WHL but Tottenham’s first appearance sees us lose to West Brom 0-2.
16th May 1921 – One year and a day after playing a Charity Shield game at WHL Tottenham again host the trophy and this time win 2-0 V Burnley.

17th May 1972 –  WHL sees the first ever all European Trophy final between two English sides played.  Tottenham defeat Wolves over two legs to win the UEFA Cup.

19th May 2013 Gareth Bale in his last game leaves us with a trade mark strike V Sunderland.

22nd May 1983- The UEFA European Youth Championship final sees France beat Czechoslovakia 1-0.
23rd May 1984 - Tottenham win a second European trophy on the ground this time beating Anderlecht in the UEFA Cup.
26th  May 1900 – The Southern League Shield is presented to the Club. (the players don’t receive their medals till 24th September).
27th May 1996 – The London Monarchs play their last (and 9th) American football match at The Lane. Like the first game they lose at home to Amsterdam. In front of just over eleven thousand people.
27th May 1901  - A great ban contest and musical carnival.

29th May 1995 The London Monarchs win at White Hart Lane for the first time and at the fourth attempt as they defeat Rhein Fire.

4th June 1900 – The Tottenham Cricket League held their annual sport day at WHL. The event finishes with musicians playing under a string of Chinese lanterns.
7th June 1947 – The latest ever finish to a League campaign sees Barnsley visit the Lane. This is due to a severe winter and the government still having restrictions on midweek games in place.
9th June 1906 – And Tottenham play their first baseball game at WHL a “friendly” V Woolwich Arsenal.
8th July 1947 - Tottenham Schools hold their annual sports day
17th July Boxing at the Lane – The Jack London / Bruce Woodcock fight tops the bill. Its said that a number of the local pubs ran out of beer.
31st July 1922 - The first open air professional boxing contest in London is held.

Just to thank everyone who followed the series last season on social media and again this time for their wonderful feedback.

White Hart Lane - Then - Now - Forever.
