We find a number of interesting visitors, a record score and a first with the BBC. 1st February 1967 - On our way to the trophy, we beat Millwall 1-0 in a cup replay. 1st Feb, 1909 - The Household Brigade played The London Football Association 2nd Feb, 1987 - Spurs beat West Ham 5-0 in League Cup replay. Clive Allen nets a hat trick, (1). 3rd February 1960 – Our record score in a competitive game, it’s a 13-2 win V Crewe in a FA Cup replay. Its the only time three players have scored hat tricks in the same game. Smith, Allen and Jones, (2). 5th Feb, 1927 - The first time our club is featured on a match day commentary on BBC Radio as Sunderland beat us 0-2. ![]() 6th February 1982 - The new West Stand is officially opened. The visitors are Wolves, who are beaten 6-1 as Ricki Villa scores a hat trick. left - Ricki here in 1981. 6th Feb 1965 - Legendary left back Ron Henry scored only one goal for Spurs and it’s the only goal as we beat Manchester United. Ron would later say ‘I only scored once but it was a beaut.’ 7th Feb. 1921 – England played The South in an international trial match and 23,000 watched a 1-1 draw with Grimsdell and Smith playing for England against Dimmock and Bliss for the South. 8th Feb. 1958 - A minutes silence is held before the game V Sunderland to mark the Manchester United plane crash at Munich airport two days before. 8th February 1901 – Tottenham’s first FA Cup tie at WHL and more than fifteen thousand watch a 1-1 draw against Preston North End. In the season that Tottenham would win the replay and the trophy. 8th Feb. 2003 - Teddy Sheringham scores his 300th career goal V Sunderland as we win 4-1. ![]() 9th Feb 1935 - The American Baseball giant Babe Ruth (left) is at WHL to watch Spurs play a 2-2 draw with Derby. 9th Feb 1952 – The players and officials lead a minutes silence for King George V before the game V Arsenal. (top image) Tottenham the reigning Champions went down 1-2 but would finish second above the visitors. Sonny Walters scores our goal in front of over sixty six thousand. 10th February 1967 – The first ‘Tottenham’ sending off at WHL and the unlucky man is Terry Venables in the game V Fulham 11th Feb. 1924 - Another England trial game and this time England played the Rest. ![]() 11th Feb. 2012 - Newcastle are beaten 5-0 as Harry Redknapp is cleared in court and returns to the dug out. 12th Feb. 1966 - An Alan Gilzean (left) hat trick and Frank Saul score as we beat Burnley 4-3 in the Cup. 12th Feb. 1944 - Guest player Jack Rowley scores seven as we beat Luton 8-1. 14th Feb. 2013 - Our 200th goal at home in European action arrives when we score the first in a 2-1 win over Olympique Lyonnais, which was also our 50th home win in Europe. Bale gets both goals. 16th Feb. 1935 - Bolton in the Cup and our first 70,000 crowd (Newcastle only set the record for the first 60,000 earlier in competition). 17th Feb. - 1928 The Interverstites V The Amateur FA. ![]() 18th Feb. 1924 – Spurs V Oxford University and the Prince of Wales attends with a broken arm in a game featured in the Tottenham Mysteries, (3). 18th Feb. 67 - Another Trophy win season and we beat Portsmouth 3-1 in the Fourth Round. 20th February – 1982 the youngest player to feature for Spurs in the League is 16y 301d Ally Dick when he plays V Man City.
20th Feb. 1993 - Teddy Sheringham (above) scores his first hat trick for Spurs and the clubs first in the PL (one was a penalty) in the 4-0 win over Leeds. 20th February 1904 – The FA Cup tie with Aston Villa is abandoned when the large crowd spills on to the pitch and can’t be cleared.
