Earlier in the year we featured The Art of Tottenham and the Art of White Hart Lane looking at various art interpretations of both subjects and you seemed to have enjoyed them so I've gathered together some more works of art from the World of Hotspur to help pass those long summer days in between mind boggling news stories, with just dash of trivia. Once again actually tracking down the artist in many cases has proved a problem so thank you in your absence and if anyone can shed light on the origins please do so. Above- The Way We Were and the south west corner of the ground, until recently. Left - Hugo Lloris. Below - A rather good one of Harry Kane as its done in the style of the old 'cigarette cards' Starting with two goalies -Bill Brown was well known for his concentration levels but to hone his reactions he played center forward when the team had a six a side game in the gym - and scored a lot of goals. While Gomes - once whilst playing in Holland he injured himself when celebrating a goal and required treatment. Another superstitions - Terry Dyson would crunch a handful of dextrose tablets before the game. Tommy Harmer would lock himself in the toilet and chain smoke. John White is said to like a whiff of ammonia, Backing the days when young players were put into digs Stephen Carr is aid to have taught the landladies parrot to say ‘F*** off” Above Ossie Ardilles features in both of these. right - a playing days Ossie whilst on the left we have a more recent version. Left - Danny Blanchflower, and I assume this dates from the sixties. Below - Left - Steel Ledley- a structure that is in one of the parks of his native Tower Hamlets. This was unveiled a coupe of years ago. Right - This was given to me and I'm told the artist is Jazzy Jaz, sounds like a 'stage/artists' name and a variation on the cockerel. Left is the great Willie Hall, who set England goalscoring records before the war. Note (old) Wembley behind him. This picture hangs in Newark Art Gallery where he was born and the artist is one Betty Hall, Again I assume, a relative. Below - Not actually Spurs (as far as I Know) and art comes in many forms. On the left a Cockerel made from watch parts whilst on the right we have one sculptured from ice. Right we have Dier and the artist is Paul Trevillion who was featured in our Celebrity fan bx series. Then its back into the unknown below left, Jermain Defoe. The right side we have Gary Lineker. Martin Chivers said Bill Nicjolson used to say - He always wanted players to win two games - Arsenal at home and Arsenal away. We all know how much those two results mean to the fans. Right - Another one of Zelda's clever pics and thanks to her for the use of them. Do you think that looks like David Beckham?
