The Art of Tottenham returns for another run over the coming weeks, where we gather Spurs related images from the art work drawn across the years. Thanks to everyone who sends in submissions and for trying to track down the original artist, in this world of social media not always easy. Such as this one of Wanyama which arrived with a note saying 'no idea.' If you can shed light on any on the pictures used please feel free. Or if you have contributions to the series, I'll look forward to hearing form you. Below left - A recent cartoon featuring our four Belgium players (Chadli was still with us) and I think Marec is based in their home country. Right - a slightly older pic and 'said to be' Spurs and comes from 1910. The next one comes from the end of the seventies if my memory serves me right. It shows the Corner Pin Public House and the Park Lane stand. Note how the stand follows the curve of the road and isn't straight. I think the artist is Christopher Holmand. Next up is 'Cup Fever' and comes (its labelled) from 1925. We did play Cardiff in the Cup in 22 & 23 but 25 saw just league action. Lindsey and Seed played across those years so not much clarity there. Above left - a much more recent computer art image and to the right action from Millwall away in the Cup 1967, another tie we won the replay at home. Left - December 1951 and the Birmingham Gazette has Ron Burgess then of the Champions of course greeting the West Brom skipper and we played there on the 22nd. The artist is Norman Edwards who worked for several Midland papers. Below Right - WHL. We previously featured the art that hung in 'The Spurs Pub.' Here are two more pics. The top one being prepared for hanging and left leaving the artists studio. Since the previous article I can now tell you the artists were - Tom Chadwick, Stannislaus Brien and Sydney Maiden. And with the FA Cup in mind, this (below) comes from the press as you will see in 1904. Southern League Spurs have just beaten Football League Everton 2-1 at WHL. You will aslo note we 'are the hope of the south.' COYS
