![]() Throughout the season Talking Tottenham has attempted to bring you its usual balance of serious comment beside a look at various aspects of the non-footy elements of the World of Hotspur with some ‘sillies’ thrown into the mix. Now as the curtain comes down I’ve collected together the bits that drew the most reaction from the readers, bless both of you. While the rest of you can see what you have been missing and amend your ways as the new season looms. I was delighted to see that the plans for the new stadium now include a Time Capsule. Something I suggested four years ago, doesn’t time fly. Anyway out of interest I’ll ask again what do you thing we should bury to be dug up in a hundred years time. Sorry someone nominated Theo Walcott the first time around, but what the future generations have done to upset you I cant think. Something that I commented upon earlier this season at length was the renaming of White Hart Lane station. If we believe what you read it seems the club are still championing the idea. I appreciate the stadium will be called something else (officially) but I do think it would be a shame to airbrush WHL from our identity completely. As I labeled the season long tribute to the ground - White Hart Lane Then - Now - Forever. ![]() Another thought about the new ground, noted the club have recently applied to increase the seating, ok not massively but very welcome. I also asked, is it just me (and it wasn’t) with the aerial pictures of the building work, I couldn’t help but think of the old Pac Man computer game as it appeared the old ground was being eaten up. - Shouldn't be too hard to identify this youngest. ![]() We have run specials on all sorts of fan related subjects from cars to cakes etc but I have to ask am I alone in wondering who thought up the idea of a half and half scarf for every game, I expect it was the scarf companies. Those various specials can be found @ http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/talking-tottenham-past-conversations I was proved wrong (yes it does happened) social media is an necessary evil when writing regularly for the website. I thought these mutterings then just rapidly disappeared down the page never to be seen again, but I’ve been finding people liking tweets and stuff from months before. Not complaining and your very welcome, just surprised each time. ![]() We featured a number of odd little quirks throughout the season in the lead up to a game like Everton used to play at Anfield, before there was a dispute over the rent and they left and this lead to another side being formed to fill the empty stadium. ![]() Another was this quote before the Inter Milan pre-season game “and Spurs lead the European Champions!” which came form 2010 and Daniel Wynne on Spurs TV . Who of course did a Q/A for us the year before. http://www.indiaspurs.com/…/talking-tottenham-with-daniel-w… Along side the fun there were a few stories that made us remember there are some things more important than football. These included the terrible revelations involving our own Paul Stewart and other young players, another was the Brazilian air-crash. Our thoughts remain with them all. Paul above in happier times. You know I try to ignore the various exclusive insider knowledge stories that haunt the media, even if they spring from desperate for hits journalists or football agents living on the breadline. I did however pass on a note from a younger reader who couldn’t understand why being a part of a successful Spurs team and earning more in a week than most of us manage in a year somebody would want to move to a team below us in the league. That was originally about Danny Rose, but if the cap fits.
Just one more reason to admire our own MP who manages not to get involved in the childish tantrums of others but provides an intelligent view of the game instead. Long may he reign over us. ![]() So as the transfer gossip steps up a gear, if that was possible, and we get linked to everyone it seems with two feet an a pair of boots, remember, feel free to read it, enjoy it but you don’t have to believe it. On the other hand I have kept a note over the last seven days just for this piece and MP is going next summer as well as 14 of our players this year. If anyone out there is free most weekends please ring Daniel on….. Anyway that's enough twaddle this time around, do keep an eye on the links below and feel free to chip in your thoughts. A massive triffic to everyone who has sent in nonsense during the year. 'The Next Best' will pop up later in the summer to help with your withdrawal symptoms and there is tons of stuff coming up so enjoy your summer, the Home and Garden special is a do not miss. ![]() COYS Keith Harrison. t- Keith 16024542 f - https://www.facebook.com/keith.harrison.9659 My profile / archive is @ - View Full Bio If your not sure the little rascal was Dele Alli If you want to check out the previous Best of TT, then, Talking Tottenham - The Best of – Vol's. 1-5 http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/talking-tottenham-the-best-of-volume-one http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/tt-the-best-of-volume-2 http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/talking-tottenham-the-best-of-volumne-three http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/talking-tottenham-best-of-volume-four http://www.indiaspurs.com/blog/talking-tottenham-best-of-volume-five
