We whinged and cribbed about the lack of quality signings during the past few windows. This summer we’ve already signed a world class striker in Soldado and two potentially class players in Chadli and Paulinho. AVB says there’s still a couple of signings to come. And all I hear is Gareth Bale.
Honestly, it’s starting to get very annoying now. Stop this nonsense. No, really. Stop it. Tone it down a bit if you can’t STFU altogether. Just stop and think for a while .. about who and WHY you support. The name is TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FOOTBALL CLUB. And it’s been around since 1882, and not 2007. I hope we all support THFC for the right reasons, and our support is based on one thing. That we all love the club, we love Spurs. And not because your favourite player is at the club. If that’s the case, what happens when your favourite player leaves? Do you stop the support and go find another team? Gareth Bale had an awesome season for us last season .. he was an important player for us. STILL IS. Just because Marca or Sun or some other tabloid runs a story about Madrid offering us 100 million for Bale, doesn’t mean he’s leaving. I know how important Bale is to our team, and he’s a big part of AVB’s plans. IF he goes, it will be a massive loss. I don’t want him to leave. I’d be gutted. But that’s that. No player is irreplaceable. We are building a strong team. If the signings this transfer window don’t give out that message, there’s something wrong. With your thought process. Everyone on facebook, twitter etc going mental over just one thing. Imagine what effect it has on the morale of rest of the team. Believe me it does affect them. The start of the season is just a week away. We need to get behind the TEAM. Support the team, and not just one shirt. Found this image on the net .. Not sure about the authenticity of the quotes, but it’s apt. Sums up everything nicely. Whatever is happening right now. So, STFU about Gareth Frank Bale and concentrate on what's important - SUPPORTING SPURS. #COYS </rant> About the author: Janhavi Namshikar, Spurs supporter since the 2002-03 season, Mumbai.

I’ve been a Spurs for years before Gareth Bale was even alive and nothing is going to change that. It was inevitable that the media circus would have a field day with this story but equally it was disappointing that so many spurs fans allowed themselves to be caught up in this.

Good read, The Spanish propaganda machine posing as press used by RM in their tapping meant we couldn't avoid the circus.
