When asked who is the best LB spurs has ever had , most of us will go numb or most of us certainly need time to think !! We all know we are short of a LB from a long long time and we are constantly in search of a LB since Redknapp days . But without UCL qualifications and Tim Sherwood at our disposal what can be our LB options for next season?? Who can we attract?? its time to assess what are the options we might end with . BEN DAVIES (Swansea) - Situation - 20 year old young LB , with loads of talent , certainly has shown the spark of becoming one of the best LB's in the coming years , would u see us taking him and nurture his growth ?? Chances – Likely ZEKI FRYERS (Tottenham hotspur) - Situation - He is one of the raw talents we have . He has earned a lot of praise and love by his performances this season. no doubt about his talent but , would u keep him as a second choice LB ?? OR send him on loan and make him a better player?? Chances – High BENOIT ASSOU-EKOTTO (Tottenham Hotspur) - Situation - Disco Benny , a fan favorite , loves the club , but his qualities are always questioned , his arrival will fill the gap but solve the problem ?? the answer is NO . At 30 , will he be able to handle the pressure at a big club like spurs ?? Chances – Slim DAVIDE SANTON (Newcastle United) - Situation - Good young Italian talent, can do the job and fill the empty spot, there is a good chance that the 23 year old can be Levy'ED from Newcastle .Taking Baldini and his Italian links into consideration, this deal is more likely , but at 23 , is he the one for the future ?? is he the player who can take us forward to an new dimension ?? Chances – High LUKE SHAW (Southampton) - Situation - With chelsea scouting the 18 year old , he would rather choose a better option than choosing us and it is rumored that Chelsea have sealed his signature for 25m . Chances - Highly Impossible . FABIO COENTRAO (Real Madrid)- Situation - Second choice LB at Real Madrid , scouted by Europe's top teams . Without UCL qualification, Daniel Levy and Franco Baldini should work wonders to attract the 26 year old portugese international . Moreover he will cost us a fortune . Chances - very slim LEIGHTON BAINES (Everton) - Situation - No doubt about his talent and his consistency. With ex manager David Moyes waiting to pounce on him and grab his signature, why would he leave after signing a new contract recently ?? will the 26 year old England international choose Spurs over united ?? why would he leave Everton and join another team with no champions league ?? many questions unanswered . Chances - Very Slim ASHLEY COLE (Chelsea) - Situation - Since the arrival of Jose Mourinho , he has been left on the bench on numerous occasions and he is reaching his final days of top quality football . However he does have one good season under his belt. With the arrival of rumored Luke shaw to chelsea ,he will be on his way out. will Levy be alert to capture his signature ?? will his arrival benefit us ?? Benefit is that ,he can be our number one LB and young Danny Rose can learn from him, while Zeki Fryers can get a good loan spell under his belt and can be a better player than he is now . BUT !! we are talking about a EX-GOON Yiddos , should we welcome him ?? Chances - High These are the few options we can assess at the moment .Not to forget !! we have the world cup coming up, In the world cup, many talents will come to the picture , Baldini would have his eyes wide open for those foreign talents . So would you pick any of the above? Will they bring the change? Will we find our best LB in years? your thoughts, let it flow below ?? About the author: Anoop Manjunath aka SpursOnline #COYS #THFC

interesting, as you say in our current position (mess) players are not going to want to come here. So we need a top experienced manager who they can see taking their careers and the club forward. Davies might be a decent move as its a step up for him.

I didnt know Davies was 20. Would prefer him among the lot considering all variables. Also, would like to see Benny given the chance to prove himself in pre season.

In the last 20 years the best LB we've probably had is Ziege however he was plagued by injury. Apart from that the next is BAE.
