Its Christmas time again and this years special finds us running low on Christmas tales but I've dug out a great story that wont happen again. Along with some more wonderful images from Spurs across the years that I hope your like. A massive thanks to everyone who has chipped in comments, pics and whatever's during the year. To everyone who is celebrating have a wonderful Lilywhite Christmas and to all a happy and glorious new year. A tale unlikely to be repeated in this day and age finds two of our boys hitchhiking after a game on Christmas Day. It was 1948 and Spurs had won away to Leicester 2-1. Les Bennett (said to be the best goal he ever scored) and Ron Burgess with our goals. Spurs then made their way home by coach and dropped Burgess and Vic Buckingham near to Watford as the two of them lived in Stanmore. The coach and their teammates disappeared into the night whilst our two lads looked around for a bus and train only to find their were none running. They set out for the long walk home which took some hours. The following day was a Sunday so they could rest before the return game on Boxing Day which saw Leicester take a point. Which of course has nothing to do with Paul Gascoigne getting into the festive spirit. Then in other years we have Bobby Smith and Danny Blanchflower. Finally there is Pat Jennings at home with the family. Times change and this is the lads this time last year. No prices for identifying them. Answers below. In 'Talking Tottenham 1882 and all that' we noted some other thinks that happened that year. I've since found that year also saw the first string on Christmas lights. Another event on 25th not mentioned in previous years and 1908 and our first Football league game on the day away to Oldham and we went down by the only goal. Christmas wouldn't be the same with out some things such as Christmas cards. This is the clubs from 1967, Santa and hospital visits by the players here its Toby from last year. Right - Gazza (again) and here turning on the London Christmas lights in Regent Street in 1990. Above Gazza (again what does he do the rest of the year?). And one little elf doesn't look too happy. Thanks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
