To Dare is to do , to dare to fail .
Modric , Berba , Carrick , Bale . Echoes of glory , here for the fans . Managerial changes , short term plans . Forget on field matters , profit driven club. Fleecing all your supporters , I introduce Stub Hub . Do as we say , and not as you bid . You fans are on your own , when it comes to saying Yid The Game is about the Glory , no it's bloody not. Double cash on Hugo , sell the whole dam lot . Want to buy a forward , I don't think he's worth that price Forget 40 million boys , 8 and a half sounds rather nice To dare is to do , stadium takes to long Glory glory Tottenham Hotspur , we need to change that song Forget your Stevie Perryman's ,forget Graham Roberts soul. To be a club that has some cash , is ENIC's only goal Change is badly needed , or it won't end bloody well , Attendance might just take a drop Descending into a profit driven hell . Your the lifeline supporter, you have a powerful voice . Or does the client reference numbers not get the ultimate choice ? Davie The spurs poet © Thespurspoet 2014 All rights reserved

If I said Walter Daniel John Tull
Who played for the super Spurs Would you even bat an eyelid At this iconic ex football player of ours He joined in and around 1909 And stayed for about 3 years He was brought up in an orphanage Parents died …terrible fears He also served in the First World War And fought in the battle of the Somme He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant He gained praise and awards with aplomb But fate was not kind for Walter As on a mission somewhere in France He was killed in the line of duty Body never found ...well that was the stance So what makes Walter so special Well the reason is so topical you see first outfield Afro-Caribbean player To play in the top league did he He was also the first to be an officer In a force that excluding Negroes and Mulattos This is why he was so special he stood side by side to fight off foes He only played 10 times for Tottenham And scoring 2 goals in his time His confidence shook ,as he was dropped As racist abuse hit its prime He had agreed to sign for Rangers When he was meant to come back from the war Few years ago we played the Scots And for Walter the game it was for In a way I could have just done a poem And not mentioned the colour of his skin But respect to the man for not hiding In this hate driven world we live in So no matter what colour or nation Or if my beliefs are different than yours You wear the shirt of Tottenham You will always be known as one of ours More importantly he was a human being Doesn't matter what colour of your skin Treat others the way you would like to be treated The real person comes deep from within Coys …..respect ….. © Thespurspoet 2014 All rights reserved no part of this document may be reproduced without consent of author The final whistle sharply sounds as the players leave the ground Fans have all made the way to journeys homeward bound And as the floodlights get switched off a darkness does desend But Tottenham does not go to sleep the history does not end The ground is deadly quiet but a presence still is there The stands are all so empty but theres a echo in the air It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low The words of a great man one we all should know His name was Bill Nicholson he was Tottenham to his core He loved this famous football club who’s tops we have all wore He said It's no use just winning, we've got to win it well." a famous line to his players that Bill Nic would tell as a player and a manager he was dedicated to our team push and run with Arthur rowe was Nicholson's Tottenham dream and with just 1 cap for England and a goal that he did score injuries badly plagued him and for St George he played no more "My duty is to get fit for Tottenham. Well, they pay my wages you see words of a true loyal man not a modern day mercenary but his playing career was over his future was laid out he got his life ambition and his name we all did shout he rewrote the Tottenham history books with his style and passing play people wanted to learn from Bill all about the Tottenham way we went on to win the double in the year of 61 Tottenham hotspur football club's new era had begun Trophies and glory followed we had conquered the English game Then he moved to Europe to share the new found fame First team to do the double and first to beat Europe's elite Bill had transformed this club to the team they craved to beat He had made the club a world wide name and history books rewrote He gave the club the stature and was famous for a quote And when he left he must have thought his job he must have done But he came back for Burkinshaw and the transformation again begun He scouted for the team he loved and players he did find Galvin Mabbut and Roberts are a few that spring to mind He then received the tribute he deserved for what he had achieved Club president to the fateful day we all sadly bereaved A dark day at Tottenham in October 2004 When the great man passed away a man we all adore A legend in his own right and a true Tottenham great The day he died the club had mourned that devastating date So when the lights are turned off the legend's still alive He loved the club with passion it helped the great man thrive And as his ashes are scattered on the turf at White Hart Lane You have got to show his passion when you play the football game So every player at Tottenham remember where you are Remember when you leave with big wages and nice car You will always be a number and a name for Spurs to pick You will never be a legend like the legend that was Bill Nic …… The spurs poet © Thespurspoet 2014All rights reserved no part of this document may be reproduced without consent of author The Sandrollo A yid took a stroll through the deep dark wood Wenger seen the yid and the yid looked good Where are you going to , little spurs yid Come to my lair and your clothes I get rid Its terribly kind of you Wenger but no – I am going to have lunch with the beast Sandro Sandrollo ? whats a Sandrollo ? How many phrases can describe the pure grief, Talented , gifted , classy and unique A tragic loss beyond a nations belief. That fateful day now half a century ago . When the world of football was rocked . Tottenham couldn't control the devastating news , The occasion will forever be talked . Why ? I'm afraid I can't answer that question. Fate had a big part to play . But the Ghost of the Ghost will never leave us , Etched in Tottenham's history now forever and a day . Remember the player and the father, The husband , the Uncle and the man. Remember the legend of a talented soul , Who left thoughts of excitement when he ran. He was the player Bill wanted to build round , The foundation of a new lilywhite dawn, Sadly that never developed , But the legacy will never be gone . 50 years have gone by , but the story remains , The echoes ring around White Hart Lane , The loss and parting of such a great player, A new soul will be heavens new gain. Greatness and an aura so special Legendary status is a right you must earn John White had all these traits in his locker How we wish that sad fortune would turn . The passing of any person is so tragic and sad One so young in the prime of his life, Today my thoughts are with Johns family His children and his beloved good wife . The Ghost , the Legend , the Father , the Spur Taken sadly before his life span should have been , For the many that had the privilege to behold him , One of the greatest players that this clubs ever seen . The greatest sporting movie that's ever been made With a host of legends and a few actors thrown in Who would have given the prisoners a chance It was odds on that the Germans would win But never underestimate the power of hope As the 2nd half was a joy to behold From the certainty of defeat came a comeback well known And escape to victory was about to unfold I have watched the movie many times like you And remember the plot and story line But as I say with Osvaldo Ardiles last week He had a slightly different story and version from mine You see Ossie told the story , like it was so true And how Michael Caine was quite shit at the back And the fact it took 36 takes for Sly's save That even Pele was staring to crack He said about going to the room at half time And the bath disappeared to the ground Ossie jumped quickly as escape was in sight With the rats in the sewer that they found " we can win this " came a voice from the changing room Ossie was already thinking about a fine wine in France Ossie was fuming he had to go back As the rest of the team jumped a victory seeking dance I will always remember that flick over his head And how i wanted to do it the next day I wanted to pull on the white shirt with the stripes I thought I could be Carlos Rey And as the players disappeared as the whistle it blows The Pinot Grigio was now Ossies desire The story now finished but ask Ossie his take As the crowd roared and the decibels got higher The story was part of a question that was asked But the thing that's so funny and true Was the question was asked to Micky Hazard About playing in cup finals as he played in a few For those who attended this evening I speak What a privilege to hear this tale in Ossie's style In fact the whole night was a pleasure to run Even Micky gave a verse of "can't smile " COYS!
