Give me the 60s
They stand all in white With the lights beaming down The nights full of glory Chasing Europe's top crown The runners The passers The kings of the game The Tottenham Super Tottenham The lads from the lane These legends , proper legends The lads at their peak These legends , these moments Are the ones we all seek Give me a return to the era we adore When the cockerel didn't stay static The cockerel did soar Give me a Blanchflower , and give me a John White Give me a Cliff Jones As he torments in full flight Give me a Dyson And a prayer for Mackay Just give me the 60s Without a poor 90s sigh Give me a Baker And a touch of big Smith We once controlled Europe This wasn't made up myth Give me les Allen And give me Bill Brown Give me Ron Henry and Maurice Norman closing down Give me a Medwin and Marchi And give me a Bill Nic When the game was about glory Tottenham passing game slick The runners The passers The kings of the game The Tottenham Super Tottenham The lads from the lane Give me the 60s as I never had it I didn't get to witness this great sight When Tottenham became totally dominant As they stood tall dressed in pure lilywhite The futures bright !!!!!! It's lilywhite COYS The spurs poet © Thespurspoet 2014 All rights reserved no part of this document may be reproduced without consent of author
